Negative data for comparison

December 1st, 2012 by Mui Mui Mui Mui

There is comparison data by 2 columns. e.g:
Yr 2011 Yr2012 %
$10 $12 20% [formula = (12-10)/10]
-$10 $12 220%

if i copy the formula from 1st line then the answer for the line 2 will be -220% instead of 220%.

The -220% is caused by the negative denminator. To get positive 220%, you can use the formula abs which means absolute, i.e. positive number. [Formula=(12-(-10))/abs(-10)]
